The Journal of Security Issues is a new scholarly periodical thematically focused on the issues of security broadly defined in terms of research agenda of the security studies as a primarily social science, part of group of political sciences. The journal aims to expand the possibilities for authors interested in security matters to publish, support the development of the scientific field and its emancipation predominantly but not exclusively in Czech academic community.

The periodical, is tied to the Department of Political Science and Department of International Relations and European Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences, Masaryk University as regards human resources. However the aim and scope of the periodical is not merely regional, it may be considered rather nationwide, or even transnational due to publication both in Czech and English.

The JSI is published in “2+ format”. Two regular thematically diverse issues per annum are complemented by the special monothematic ad hoc published issues.
